The Prairie School is seeking to add a new program to our curriculum for the 2018-2019 school year. We are searching for an experienced, growth mindset faculty member, with an expertise in teaching programming across our middle and upper school divisions.  This is a unique opportunity for a visionary educator to develop an innovative world class 7-12 grade program by building on the strong foundations of a solid program in our early grades.

Qualifications: A bachelor’s degree is required. A master’s degree and 5-10 years experience teaching are preferred.

Our Primary School Division is searching for a passionate, creative, collaborative, and articulate teacher to join our Kindergarten Program for the 2018-2019 school year.  The ideal candidate must have a growth mindset, possess strong classroom management skills, an excitement for teaching, and knowledge of the developmental age of the Kindergarten student. The ideal candidate will have the skills necessary to differentiate instruction, taking students at their developmental levels and supporting growth academically, socially, and emotionally.

The candidate should also be committed to issues of diversity, leadership, inclusion, and equity. The ability to collaborate with parents and colleagues and contribute to a strong learning community is important.

Qualifications: A bachelor’s degree in education is required along with a certification in elementary education or equivalent; a master’s degree and 3-5 years experience teaching are preferred.

The Prairie School, a child-centered, college-preparatory day school is seeking a part-time assistant to work Monday thru Friday, from 3:30pm to 6:30pm. The Primary School seeks an energetic, outgoing professional to support our extended day program as an assistant.

Responsibilities include organizing and supervising programs that will engage students ages 3-13 years of age. Candidate must be flexible to changing situations, with the ability to multi-task. The successful candidate will work well in a professional environment, be flexible in schedule, a team player with good verbal communication skills and have basic computer skills including entry level Word & Excel. Candidate must be a self-starter and maintain excellent attendance. Hourly wage is based on experience.

The Substitute Teacher will take the place for the primary teacher during their absence.

Required Professional Qualities:

  • Hold a valid State of Wisconsin teaching license (Substitute or Standard).
  • Possess evidence of other adequate preparation, background, or experience as determined by the Division Head.
  • Manage the classroom environment according to the current school ethos and culture.
  • Promote student learning in the absence of the current subject-area teacher.
  • Provide guidance as an advisor/advocate.
