Accreditation is important because it holds schools to rigorous standards in every area of school life. The accreditation process engages the entire school community, bringing it together to affirm its mission, identify areas of strength and weakness, and articulate plans for improvement. The accreditation process culminates with an extensive examination of each school by a visiting team of experts every seven years. Accreditation is a helpful indicator of quality.
