Pop POP parents of prairie

Prairie’s parent organization, POP, exists to work with the entire parent community to enhance the overall student experience. How? By bringing Prairie families together to build, enrich, and broaden relationships; by facilitating collaboration and dialogue between parents and faculty; by reinforcing the mission of the school; by providing useful services and a social connection. Every parent is encouraged to participate in POP activities in order to build a strong, connected Prairie community.

Join the POP Leadership Team

The purpose of POP is to bring the Prairie community together to build, enrich, and broaden relationships. This happens through family events, parent socials, and campus initiatives. In order to grow and expand these connections, POP is looking for parents to lead in the following areas:

Events

  • Goal: Create opportunities for parents and families to gather, both on and off campus.
  • Responsibilities: The Events team will work with the Admission Office to manage timelines and details for community events like Fall Fest, the Fall Parent Social, Gingerbread Bash, etc.

Outreach & Service

  • Goal: Provide useful services and give back to the Prairie community – students, faculty, and parents.
  • Responsibilities: Outreach and Service leaders will coordinate activities such as the Uniform Swap and Sale and Thank a Teacher Week, as well as manage an outreach network for community members.

Volunteer Management

  • Goal: Connect current parents with volunteer opportunities that fit their skills, interests, and schedules.
  • Responsibilities: Volunteer Management leaders will manage a database of parents who express an interest in community involvement, and connect them with the appropriate team.

Community Connections

  • Goal: Facilitate relationships between new and current parents to develop a stronger community.
  • Responsibilities: The Community Connections team will manage the Buddy Program, parent coffees, and other initiatives that encourage conversation and collaboration.

Meet the Leadership Team!

The POP Leadership Team is a group of parents representing all three divisions. The team works alongside the Admission Office to reinforce the mission of the school through community events and activities.
