Make a Meaningful Impact

The Prairie School is grateful to the long history of philanthropy and generosity of spirit that exists among members of our community. Financial support from parents and guardians, grandparents, alumni, faculty, staff, and friends provides exceptional opportunities and outstanding resources for our students and programs. The Advancement team manages giving and volunteer opportunities for the school and works closely with the Board of Trustees to ensure our school’s financial security.

The Prairie Fund

The Annual Fund provides necessary dollars, outside of tuition, to support Prairie students and programs, every day of the year. Contributions to the Annual Fund are directed to the school’s highest priorities. We strive for success in annual giving by asking all of our Prairie constituents — current families, alumni, faculty and staff, grandparents, parents of alumni, and friends – to participate. The strength of the Annual Fund is dependent on broad participation by every member of the community.

To contribute, or if you have questions, please contact Hannah Keller, Director of Advancement, at 262.752.2530.

Why give?

The generosity of the Prairie community plays a large part in making The Prairie school exceptional, and for that we are extremely grateful. Tuition does not cover the cost of educating a child, and the Annual Fund ensures that we maintain both the excellence of our program. From a practical perspective, we could raise our tuition to fully cover annual costs, but unlike gifts to the Annual Fund, tuition is not tax deductible. All independent schools rely on donations from their community.

Gifts of all sizes help us reach our financial goal and our goal of 100 percent parent participation. We are all in this together. With 400 families, you are an important part of our success!

Who gives?

Parents, guardians, faculty, staff, grandparents, friends, and alumni. All are asked to help Prairie with a financial contribution.

How much?

Giving is a personal decision. We ask each family to give to the best of their ability; for some families, that amount is $100, for others, it is $50,000.

Gifts of all sizes matter. The act of giving is important because contributions of all sizes add up to big differences in our students’ lives and the viability of Prairie. We urge you to give what you can. It is about your participation and your voice of support for the quality of education our students receive.

Where does the money go?

Gifts to the Annual Fund affect everything — financial aid, classroom supplies, professional development for faculty, maintaining campus safety, and much more. These gifts allow us to meet our annual budget to fund everything from keeping the lights on to ensuring the best in technology for our students.

I receive financial aid. Does this apply to me?

Yes. We ask that every Prairie family share the responsibility of the Annual Fund. We strive for 100 percent participation, regardless of the size of the gift. Please give any size gift that is meaningful to you.

How do I make a donation?

There are many ways you can contribute to The Prairie School. Every gift to our school, regardless of its size, sends a strong message that we are committed to our students, their education, and the future of The Prairie School.

For questions, please contact Hannah Keller, Director of Advancement, at 262.752.2530.

Matching gifts

Many employers sponsor matching gift programs and will match charitable contributions made by their employees.
